NID Madhya Pradesh in Bhopal became an Institute of National Importance in November 2019. For 2027-28 its Class 12 entry is the 5.5-year Integrated M.Des.: 7 subjects, 79 seats (it ran a 4-year B.Des. with a one-year foundation up to 2026-27). Tuition is lower than at NID Ahmedabad. The DAT Prelims is common to all NIDs (one form, one fee after Class 12). For the M.Des., NID MP runs its own DAT Mains and needs its own application.

How to read rankings
- The course rank matters more than the overall rank. A college can be average overall and excellent for law.
- Each list measures different things. NIRF scores teaching, research, results after graduation, how inclusive a college is, and its reputation.
- Small gaps mean little. Ranks 12 and 18 are close; don't choose on a few places.
- Not ranked isn't bad. Colleges choose whether to take part, and new or small ones often don't.
