Where these numbers come from
International students pay out-of-state rates at public universities; UG low ends are College Board 2025-26 averages (public out-of-state, private nonprofit), high ends are University of Michigan nonresident 2026-27 (proposed) and NYU 2026-27; PG uses Arizona State international and Michigan Rackham nonresident for public, and the NCES 2021-22 private nonprofit average and Boston University engineering 2026-27 for private.

The US has no fixed visa living amount; standard is the College Board 2025-26 public four-year on-campus budget minus tuition (room, board, books, transport, other), and New York is NYU's 2026-27 non-tuition estimate; health insurance is extra.
