AFTER GRADUATION

Finished your degree? Master's, MBA or work — let's choose calmly.

A master's helps most when you know what it's for. Here's how master's work in India and abroad now, the exams and dates, and when working first is the smarter move.

What to decide, and when

  1. Final year · earlyDecide: master's now, work first, or a switch of field. Write down why.
  2. Final yearRegister for the entrance exams you need (CAT, GATE, JAM, CUET PG, CLAT PG) before they close.
  3. Abroad?Check your 3-year or 4-year degree is accepted, and book GRE/GMAT and an English test.
  4. Before payingCompare the full cost, last year's real outcomes and the refund rules.

Under UGC's framework, a 4-year degree leads to a 1-year master's, and a 3-year degree to a 2-year master's. A 4-year graduate with 75% can apply straight for a PhD.
