UP Board 2027: Mistakes in Your Board Exam Details Can Be Fixed Until 12 November
Published 02/11/2026

In short: If your child is taking the UP Board High School (Class 10) or Intermediate (Class 12) exam in 2027, this is the time to check their details. The Board's website is open for corrections from 2 November until midnight on 12 November 2026, and the changes are made by the school principal, not by the student.
What happened
On 2 November 2026, the Secretary of the Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh (UPMSP) wrote to every District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) about errors in the records of students registered for the 2027 board exams. It covers both school (institutional) and private candidates.
The notice says:
- Online corrections, 2 to 12 November (till 12 midnight): principals log in to upmsp.edu.in and fix spelling mistakes in the student's, mother's or father's name; the subject or stream; gender; caste; medium (Hindi or English); the photo; and a wrong High School roll number entered in the Class 11 registration.
- Offline corrections, by 16 November: a change in date of birth, a full change of the student's or a parent's name, and deleting or restoring a student's record cannot be done online. For these, principals collect a written application with documents by 16 November 2026.
- The DIOS then checks these cases and sends them to the Board's regional office by 21 November, and regional offices are told to finish the changes by 30 November.
Principals have been asked to check every student's details on the Board website against the school's own records. The 2027 exams themselves run from 5 to 24 February 2027, as the Board announced on 12 October.
Two ways to fix a mistake
- Spelling of student or parent name
- Subject or stream, medium
- Gender, caste, photo
- Class 10 roll no. in Class 11 record
- Date of birth
- Full change of student or parent name
- Delete or restore a record
- Application and documents to the principal
For students
- Ask to see your details this week. Your class teacher or the school office can show what the Board has on record: your name, your parents' names, subjects, medium, gender, category and photo.
- Check each line slowly. A single wrong letter in a name carries onto your admit card and your marksheet. The marksheet is the one you will show for college admission, scholarships and jobs.
- Check your subjects and medium. If you changed a subject or want to write in Hindi rather than English (or the other way round), make sure the record says so.
- Report a mistake in writing to the school, not just by word of mouth. A short note with your name, class and the exact correction is easy for the office to act on.
- Private candidate? The notice covers you too. Contact the school through which your form was submitted; the notice routes all corrections through principals.
For parents
Why it matters now. The marksheet becomes your child's main identity document for years. Changing a name or date of birth after results is far slower and harder than fixing it before the exams. This window is the simple route.
Your own name counts too. The notice includes spelling errors in the mother's and father's names. Check these against your Aadhaar or other ID, because mismatches cause trouble later at college admission or in passport and scholarship paperwork.
Date of birth or a full name change needs papers. If the date of birth is wrong, or a name has to be changed completely, the school must send an offline application by 16 November. The notice lists what it should include, such as:
- the student's admission form and a certified copy of the school's scholar register (SR) entry,
- a certified copy of the attendance register and the student's identity card,
- the Class 9 or Class 11 registration card,
- an affidavit about the correct details, and
- the transfer certificate (TC), countersigned by the DIOS and by the District Basic Education Officer.
Start collecting these now. An affidavit and countersigned TC can take a few days.
No fee is mentioned. The notice does not mention any fee for corrections. Be wary of anyone who asks for money to "get it done"; the official route is through the principal.
